Create Pricing Plans

Learn how to create a pricing plan to start accepting payments from customers.

About Pricing Plans

The pricing plan is the price tag and payment vehicle for your product. For your products to be purchased or granted, they must first be connected to a pricing plan.

With pricing plans, you can:

  • Create multiple prices for the same product

  • Provide different cohorts for your products.

  • Bundle products together. 

Create and customize as many pricing plans as you need to sell your Product(s) with Passion.io.

How to Create a Pricing Plan

Navigate to Pricing in the Admin view and click on the ➕ sign at the top right of the screen to open the Create Pricing Plan section.

Basic information

  • Enter the Plan name (max 24 characters) and an optional Plan description (max 45 characters)

  • Click Next to proceed.

Pricing options

Set your pricing options:

  • Membership includes recurring payments that can be set for a week, month, 3 months, 6 months, or a year.
  • One time is for a single, non-recurring charge.
  • Free

After a pricing plan is created, its pricing type (e.g., Membership to One-time) can’t be changed. To update it, create a new plan with the desired option.

Click Customize selected plan dropdown to set:

  • Preferred price

  • Preferred currency from the currency dropdown menu.

  • Billing Cycle: Only applicable for membership pricing plans.

    • Dropdown options: weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.

    • This cannot be changed once created.

Availability

Availability selectors are helpful in scenarios such as:

  • Avoiding Apple and Google’s 15–30% commission fees
  • Making content accessible only to a specific group of users rather than your entire audience
  • Offer higher-priced plans with PassionPayments or Hidden Pricing Plans

Select where you’d like your pricing plan to be visible based on the guide below:

App Stores

In-App Purchases are ideal for low-priced offers. Users can purchase with a tap via Apple and Google


Submission is required for the pricing plans to appear in your App Store listing.
Web app For higher-priced offers, connect Stripe with Passion Payments. Users can buy directly from your web app.
Checkout link Each pricing plan will have its own checkout link available after connecting Stripe with Passion Payments.

Connect Stripe for Passion Payments

To generate a checkout link, activate PassionPayments by connecting Stripe.

Once Stripe is successfully connected, you will see ✅ Connected. Click Next once completed. 

    Unable to Connect Stripe?
    You can finish setting up a pricing plan without connecting Stripe. To generate checkout links and collect payments via PassionPayments, you’ll need to connect Stripe before you start accepting payments.

    Add a Trial Period

    Enable the Free Trial toggle to display trial options and choose preferred duration, or keep it off if you’re not including a trial.

    • Trial durations: 3, 17, 14 and 30 days.
    • Free trials on Apple and Google are only available for subscription-based pricing, not for one-time payments.

    Click Next once completed.

    Included in this Plan

    Under Products, select the courses you want to include in your plan.

    • If you’ve enabled the Tracking and Community sections in My Apps > Navigation, they’ll also show up here and can be added to your pricing plan.
    • To include everything at once, use Select All instead of checking each item manually

    Click Create Plan to complete setting up your Pricing Plan.
