Connecting Facebook Pixel with your Ad Account

  • Updated

What is Facebook Pixel?

It’s a feature on Facebook that takes ad campaigns to the next level. It allows you to target the audience for your ads, retarget potential clients that have already seen the ads and get a lot of tracking information to optimize the ad campaigns.

Facebook Pixel allows you to get codes from Facebook that you copy into the header section of your website. This allows the Pixel to receive information on the actions taken on the site.

You can connect the Facebook Pixel with:

  • Your own website
  • Your access link
  • Clickfunnels page
  • Typeform, Shopify, Wix, WordPress, etc.

Connecting your Facebook Pixel with your Ad Account

Once you have created your Pixel, you need to give yourself the rights to manage the Pixel and also connect it with your Ad Account. This is a very important step!

In order to do this, you need to go to your Business Account and click Data Sources:

Select your Pixel and go to Add People. Here search for your Facebook account and add it to your pixel.

Click then on Add Assets, search for your Ad Account and add it to the Pixel.

How to create a Custom Conversion

First, we need to understand what conversion means. A conversion represents an action taken on a website that has the Facebook Pixel on. In our case, if someone fills in the Typeform, that is a conversion.

Facebook then registers this action as a successful conversion and finds people similar to the ones that submitted the Typeform and shows them the ad.

In order to set this up, you must go first to your Ad Account. From there, select the Events Manager.

The next step is to name your conversion. After naming the conversion, from Data sources, select your Pixel. Select from the conversion event section “Typeform submit”

Choose a standard event for optimization and select “Lead”.

The last step is to hit “Create”
