How to add a Sequence to your Course?

1. Lesson vs Sequence

Lessons let you use our entire widget library for video, images, text, quizzes, etc. 

Sequences add additional features to your video content. You can use a sequence to loop a video or set a timer in a video.

 

2. What is a sequence?

A Sequence is a collection of different exercises or movements arranged in a specific order, creating a circuit. This allows users to easily follow along, moving from one activity to the next without interruption, making their workout more structured and efficient.

3. Adding a sequence 

• From your App, Web App, or Passion.io App, go to your Admin View.
• Go to your Courses.

• Select the Course to add a Sequence to.    

• Click the "+" at the top right of the screen.
• Choose Lesson/Sequence.

• Choose Sequence as the type of content.
• Add Sequence name.
• Add a Summary.
• Duration is Optional.
• Select the Course Section for this Sequence from Placement.
• Add content.

• Choose between an Interactive or Timed Interactive Exercise
  

4. Interactive vs. Timed Interactive Sequence

For INTERACTIVE exercises, the timer is set as a running stopwatch. Users can proceed to the next lesson by clicking on “Next.” Since it is not a countdown timer, there is no sound or beep to alert your users. 

For TIMED INTERACTIVE exercises, the timer is set as a countdown. Users can only proceed to the next lesson once the timer runs out. Once one second remains on the timer, a sound/beep will play to alert your users that this part of the sequence is ending. 

Different ways of setting up a Sequence

Setting up an Interactive Sequence:

• Title - Name your exercise.
• Optional Image - an image for your exercise.
• Instructional Video - This instructional video helps the client understand the task.
• Playback Video - a looped video to show the movement/exercise better.

Setting up a timed Interactive Sequence:

• Title - Name your exercise.
• Duration - Optional, but this will trigger the countdown timer.
• Optional Image - an image for your exercise.
• Instructional Video - This instructional video helps the client understand the task.
• Playback Video - a looped video to show the movement/exercise better.

 

5. When to use a sequence

Sequences are primarily used for the health and fitness sector and allow two views:

• View all segments of workouts in a list view with descriptions and the ability to view each segment separately.

• You will start the playlist of all videos in sequence by clicking Start Now. 

Sequences, however, are not limited to health and fitness apps. Many PassionFighters use the sequence for various topics, including music, art, dance, and more!

 

6. Frequently Asked Questions

1. I'm not into fitness. What can I do with a sequence?

You can put any short 3-5-second video clip on a loop using the sequence! You can use a sequence for a workout, dance move, music tutorial, or even cooking!

 

2. How do you reposition or rearrange the order of your lessons/sequence?

You can re-arrange the sequence of your lessons by dragging and dropping them if using mobile view:

3. Can I add music or voice-over to my sequence? 

Music and voice-over are only available in the instructional video. The loop sequence has no sound, so your client can listen to their favorite playlist.

 

4. Can I use YouTube links to upload videos for sequences?

For the time being, only direct video uploads are allowed for sequences.

 

5. Can I preview sequences from the PassionBuilder?

Only direct video uploads can be previewed from the PassionBuilder. As a workaround, you can set the sequence as a free lesson to preview it from a client's perspective.

 

6. Is there a character limit for Sequence Summary?

For sequence summary, the upper limit is 70 characters.
