How to update App Details

 

1. What are App Details?

App Details are important information that you need to fill in and complete to publish your app. You can find the App Details in your Sales Channels Page under "iOS" and "Android" respectively.

Please make sure you have completed the information in the "1. Setup Developer Account" and "2. Connect your Developer Account to Passion" tabs before proceeding. You can know more about these here: How to Setup your Native iOS app

2. Updating your App Details

You can update your App Details from your Sales Channels Section:

2.1 For iOS:

  1. App Name - The name of your app that will be published on Apple and Google
  2. App Icon - Upload your app's logo or icon to be shown on your app and will appear as the icon when downloaded to your home screen. (recommended size: 1024x1024px)
  3. App Description - This text is used in the app stores to advertise you application. It's key to convince users to download your app. We recommend you to write a minimum of 50 words. Please make sure to include information about all pricing plans you are offering on your Sales Page (do not include any prices).
  4. Promotional Text - A summary of your app description
  5. App Subtitle - A short description of your app
  6. App Store Category - The category the app will be placed in on the AppStore
  7. App Key Words - Define keywords to help with search optimization
  8. Support URL - Your support link to your site
  9. Marketing URL - Your marketing link to your site
  10. Privacy Policy URL - Your privacy policy for the app. You can use your own or use the Passion Privacy Policy.
  11. Enable Screenshot Builder - enable or disable the use of the screenshot builder

 

2.2 For Android:

  1. App Name - The name of your app that will be published on Apple and Google
  2. App Icon - Upload your app's logo or icon to be shown on your app and will appear as the icon when downloaded to your home screen. (recommended size: 1024x1024px)

  10. Privacy Policy URL - Your privacy policy for the app. You can use your own or use the Passion Privacy Policy.
  11. Enable Screenshot Builder - enable or disable the use of the screenshot builder

 

 

3. App Category and URLs

You can pick any category that matches what content you have mainly on your app. You can choose any category from Lifestyle to Business, and even to Education.

You can also add in App Keywords to help optimize the search results for when people search for app on the App Store. URL for support, marketing, and privacy policies are also available for your clients to get support and are informed of the privacy policies.

 

 

 

4. Enabling your Screenshot Builder

App screenshots are the first images that your clients will see when they click on your app store page. They serve as sneak peeks into your app. It's important that your app screenshots convey the best features of your app and convince clients to download your app.

With the Screenshot Builder, you now have the ability to choose, customize, and design which app screenshots go into both your Google and Apple app store pages.

  • Screenshots for Different Mobile Views (Phone and Tablet)
  • Different App Scenarios (Learn, Lesson, Discover, and Product Page)
  • Adding Captions
  • Color Theme/Picker

 

To create your screenshots, follow the steps below:

1. log in to your Passion.io account.

2. Go to the Sales Channels section and select the Enable Your Screenshot Builder option under "3. App Details".

3.  Enable the Screenshot Builder, then go into each section (Learn, Lesson, Discover, Product) and customize them from there.

4. Select the PREVIEW type you would like for your screenshots. Next you can select the SCENARIO that you'd like to use as a screenshot image for your first screenshot. You will have 4 options. You can then choose which Mobile Device Template to use for the first screenshot and then choose the Caption placement that will go into your app screenshot.

Note: Lesson Screenshots. The system automatically takes a screenshot of the content from the first lesson. If it's a video, the workaround is to add a still image on the first few seconds of the video, so that it will show up instead of a black screen. 

5. Once you are done editing your screenshots you can now Publish your apps. Please allow 1 hr for the updated screenshots to appear in the app stores. 

Note: Always submit the newest version of your App with the adjustments in the Screenshot Builder so your Screenshots will be up to date.

 

Everything updates automatically but you have to re-submit to the Apple Store/Google PlayStore when you make changes on your pricing plans and App Details. 

 

5. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Do I have to fill-in all the App Details? Is it required?

We highly recommend to fill-in and complete all the information in the App Details tab. This will help will the review process for publishing your app to Apple and Google. Any missing details may be questioned by Apple/Google and may prolong the review and approval of your app.

 

2. Can I upload my own screenshots?

Yes, you can upload your own screenshots are long as the contents reflect what is in your app. To upload your own screenshots, disable the Screenshot Builder on your App Details tab and upload them directly to your own Developer Accounts.

Screenshots should show the app in use. It may contain text and image overlays to demonstrate how to use the app.

 

3. Do I have to re-submit my app when I make changes?

Everything updates automatically but you have to re-submit to the Apple Store/Google PlayStore when you make changes on your Sales Page and App Details.
