Connect an External Checkout with Zapier

Before You Begin

Set Up Zapier

Learn and set up your Zapier account by following the How to use Zapier with Passion.io article. The article contains information about Zapier, how to connect Passion.io, and helpful tips.

Zap Requirements

To connect your external checkout with Passion.io, you will need the following:

• Payment processor that has a Zapier integration [Available Zapier Apps]
• Pricing plan in Passion.io [Create Pricing Plan]

Set Up Zap

To create a Zap that creates a Passion.io order each time a client purchases through an external checkout:

Trigger: New Successful Purchase

1. Visit Zapier.com and sign into your account.
2. Hover over + Create in the left-side panel and click Zap.
3. Click in the Trigger window, search for your payment processor (e.g., Stripe, Square, ThriveCart), then click it.
4. Set the trigger event to New Successful Purchase (the wording may vary depending on the platform).
5. Sign into your connected account for the checkout platform.
6. If applicable, fill in the necessary details under the Configure tab.
7. Test the trigger to confirm the purchase is being recognized correctly. 

Action: Create Order

1. Select the action event Create Order.
2. Connect your Passion.io account.
3. Set up the action by adding:
   1. Contact Email
   2. First Name
   3. Last Name
4. Select the plan to create the order.
   1. If you cannot find the plan ID, locate it in your Pricing Plan URL.
5. Add the purchase amount.
6. Set Send password email to TRUE.
7. Test the action to confirm it runs successfully.
8. Check your Users list to confirm the new email and purchase appear.
   
   

Publish the Zap

Once the trigger and actions are correctly set up, click on the Publish button in the upper-right corner.
