With PassionPayments, keep more of your earnings by avoiding the high commission fees from Apple and Google.
How to Direct NEW Users to Passion Payments
To restrict new users to PassionPayments only:
- Go to Pricing
- Find your pricing plan
- In the Availability Selector:
- Turn OFF the App Store/Google Play toggle
- Keep the Web toggle ON
That's it! Now new customers will only be able to subscribe through your web app using PassionPayments.
What This Means For Your Users
For existing subscribers:
- They'll continue with their current subscriptions through Apple/Google
- Nothing changes for them, so no action needed
- It is not possible to transition existing subscribers from Apple or Google to PassionPayments. They would have to cancel their current subscription and sign up again.
For new customers:
- They'll need to use your web app to subscribe
- They'll pay through PassionPayments (Stripe)
Why Existing Subscribers Aren't Affected
When you turn off in-app purchases in your Availability Selector, it only affects how new users can purchase. Here's why existing subscribers aren't affected:
- Subscription management is handled directly by Apple/Google, not by Passion.io
- Turning off the toggle only prevents new purchases through the app stores
- Apple/Google will continue to process renewals for existing subscribers automatically
It's like closing the front door to new visitors while allowing current guests to stay inside.
What to Expect After Making the Switch
When you transition to PassionPayments for new customers:
- Your Passion App (web) will showcase your pricing options for everyone to see
- Your loyal existing subscribers will continue enjoying uninterrupted access
- You'll welcome new users exclusively through your web app
How to Share Your Pricing Plan
- Go to Pricing
- Copy the Checkout Link for your plan
- Share this link with potential customers
When they click this link, they'll need to create an account or log in, then they can complete their purchase.
