What is the Default Access Plan?

It’s a pricing plan designed to simplify acquiring new leads.

What you need to know

  • Automatically created: You will see it under “Pricing.” This plan cannot be deleted but can be edited to fit your needs.
  • Visibility: Users can view the content you attach to this plan (like courses, communities, or tracking goals) without needing to sign up, yet they won’t see this Default Access Plan added to their accounts. This is a great way to generate leads.
  • Location: The Default Access Plan does not appear on the Landing Page (also called Sales Page). Instead, its content is visible in your app. Users will need to sign up to interact with the content, such as completing lessons or saving favorites.

2. Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to create a Default Access Plan?

No, you do not need to create a Default Access Plan. It is automatically created and listed under “Pricing” as the first pricing plan. While you can edit the plan or choose not to add content to it, you cannot delete it.

Will the Default Access Plan show up on my Landing Page (previously called Sales Page)?

No, it won’t appear on your Landing Page / Sales Page. Instead, any content linked to this plan will be visible in your app.

Do users see this plan attached to their accounts?

No, users don’t see the Default Access Plan attached to their accounts. If you add content, communities, or tracking goals to this plan, they will see that content directly without any specific mention of the plan itself.

Who can see the Default Access Plan?

The Default Access Plan is designed to make content available to everyone right away. Since the Default Access Plan is free, users don’t need to sign up to access this content. This means:

  • Courses: Users can view and interact with all courses you’ve added to the Default Access Plan, but they can’t mark lessons as complete, save them as favorites, or download any content.

  • Communities and Tracking Goals: Users can see the layout and structure of communities and tracking goals.

How can I still get leads if the content of the Default Access Plan is visible to everyone and doesn’t require sign-up?

Users can see the content, communities, or goals in the Default Access Plan but can’t fully interact with them without signing up. They’ll be prompted to sign up if they try to:

  • Complete a lesson (they can continue, but progress won’t be saved)
  • Save content to favorites
  • Download content

How many Default Access Plans can I have?

You can only have one Default Access Plan. But you can create additional hidden free pricing plans if needed.

Can I have multiple free plans?

Yes, you can have one Default Access Plan, and you can still create multiple hidden free pricing plans.

What’s the difference between a free plan and Default Access Plan?

Default Access Plan:

  • Visibility: The content you add to this plan is visible to everyone. All users can see the courses, communities, and tracking goals without needing a special link.
  • Access: Users can view the content, but to interact with it (e.g., download, mark as favorite), they need to sign up.
  • Creation: Automatically included with the app; no manual creation required.

Free Plan:

  • Visibility: Hidden from general view. Users need a specific link to access it.
  • Access: To provide access, you must share the link with customers.
  • Creation: You can create multiple free hidden plans from the “Pricing” section.

How does the Default Access Plan affect my other pricing plans?

It doesn't. The Default Access Plan provides a preview of your app’s content and doesn’t affect your other pricing plans. It’s just a way to show what’s available for free and to generate leads.

What happens with existing free plans listed on the Sales Page / Landing Page?

Free plans remain as they were in terms of visibility (if they were in the Sales page, they will still be visible) and access (if they were already in the Sales Page, they're accessible).

What happens if I don’t attach anything to the Default Access Plan?

  • Users won’t see anything different.
  • If products, communities or tracking are added to the Default access plan, they will become visible to everyone.

Note: The Default Access Plan will never appear on the Sales Page, regardless of content.

How does this impact my users?

  • Existing users: All existing users have been added to your Default Access Plan.
  • New users: New users will be added to the Default Access Plan once they sign up.

Users who signed up for your app before August 1st but never subscribed to any plan were previously listed with 0 active plans.

With the Default Access plan now assigned, their “Joined” date reflects August 1st as the date of their first active plan.

Are there any changes to the subscription process for users?

No, there are no significant changes to the subscription process. Users can still sign up without subscribing to a plan.

If you update the Default Access Plan to include content, communities, and tracking goals, this content will be immediately visible to all users in your app.

If you don’t make any changes to the Default Access Plan, users will continue to have the same experience they had before August 1st.
