1. What is an App Version and why do I need to resubmit my app?
Once your app is live, you can continue making changes to it. We recommend following these guidelines for your first submission to Apple and Google and making any changes once your app is live.
Your app's version is the latest one available on app stores. The build number is a numeric value found on your My app → Publish Screen, usually the last number on the right. For example, if your version is 3.9.(1), the build number is 1.
Some app changes happen automatically in the App Builder, while others need approval from Apple and Google.
Each time you submit your app to Passion.io for review, it will receive a new version number, with a higher 3rd digit number.
In other words, this is the current copy of your app, whenever there are major changes to your app Apple and Google need to approve these changes so you would be able to release a new version build to your clients and end-users; therefore your app needs to be re-submitted.
Not all changes would trigger the need to resubmit your app, you will explore the different kinds of changes you might do to your app and its effect.
2. Changes that won't require re-submission:
The below changes do not require a review/approval from Apple and Google and will reflect automatically in your branded apps.
Please close and re-open your app after you are done with any of the below changes. For updates to courses, your app might need to be reloaded a few times for the changes to reflect properly.
1. Theme Colors and Templates Changes: any changes you would make to your app colors and the pallets you use to create your unique brand.
App Builder ⇒ Themes ⇒ Templates or Customize Colors
2. Changes in The Branding Section: you can change anything under the Branding Section from Themes without triggering the need to re-submit your app except for the image you upload to be used as a Background for Your Discover Page which is the same image used when your app is loading ⇒ Loading State Background.
App Builder ⇒ Themes ⇒ Branding
3. Adding/Editing Lessons Content: adding new content or editing the existing one for any lesson across your app.
App Builder ⇒ PassionProducts ⇒ Courses ⇒ Select a Course ⇒ Add/Edit a Lesson or a sequence
4. Adding/Editing Courses: adding new courses to your app to diversify your offered products or even editing the existing ones.
App Builder ⇒ PassionProducts ⇒ Courses ⇒ Add/Edit a Course
when you are adding a new course it is a must for it to be linked to a pricing plan (whether a new plan or an existing one) for it to appear in your live branded app.
3. Changes that would require re-submission:
The below changes require review/approval from Apple and Google so your app needs to be re-submitted.
Please navigate to My app → Publish and click on Submit for review for Apple or Google once you are done with any of the below changes.
1. Changes to Your 'My app → Publish' Page "Apple/Google": any changes you would make to any of the app details under Apple and Google My app → Publish pages would require that your app gets re-submitted.

App Builder ⇒ My app → Publish ⇒ Google Play Store
My app → Publish ; currently only managed on desktop.
2. Changes in The Branding Section: only changes to the image you upload to be used as a Background for Your Discover Page would trigger the need to re-submit your app. This image is the same image used when your app is loading ⇒ Loading State Background

App Builder ⇒ Pricing Plans ⇒ Create New Plan
4. Pricing Plan Changes for Apple Only:
When you change a previously approved pricing plan to increase or decrease the price, for example, you would only need to re-submit the updated pricing plan to Apple and there's no need to re-submit the whole app.
You don't need to do anything else for Google as it automatically updates without the need to re-submit the pricing plan.
Whenever you apply any changes requiring an app re-submission you would need to follow the instructions in either of the below articles to finalize the process.
